Knit this funky modern Chevron blanket with me! Makes for a perfect baby gift in bright modern colours. It's knitted in garter stitch, using a simple increase and decrease to create the points and troughs of the chevron. This is a great blanket for a beginner who has mastered the basic knit stitch and wants to tackle something slightly more adventurous.

I've listed the colours I used and the specific order in the pattern below, but don't let this stop you from picking any colours you want! Go Crazy!

My instructions produce a Blanket approximately 60cm x 80cm, but for those of you wanting to adjust this size, it can easily be done using the pattern multiple of 18 + 2 Stitches.

Materials Needed:

• 4mm Circular Needs (to recreate this blanket 80cm is a perfect length)
• Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK in shades Cream, Vanilla, Fields of Gold, Frost Blue and Sapphire.
• Tapestry Needle for sewing in ends

Stitches Used:

• k - knit
• p - purl
• k2tog - knit 2 together (decrease)
• kfb - knit front back (increase)
• sl1p wyif - slip one purlwise with yarn in front.

Written Pattern

This pattern is an incredibly easy 1 row repeat, to recreate the blanket I made in the photo above, you will need to knit 13 rows of your first colour, and 14 rows of each subsequent colour. When you cast off, make sure to cast off on a right side row, this will give the same finish to the cast on and cast off edge.

• Cast on 182 stitches using 1st colour.
• Repeat Row: k1, *k8, k2tog, k7, kfb* repeat from *to* until 1 stitch remains, sl1p wyif.
• Repeat the row above as per the colour stripe chart below. 
• When you have knit all 19 colours cast off knit wise on a right side row.
